FILM PERMIT PROCEDURE
For
the convenience of production companies filming in Oakland,
our office assumes full responsibility when it comes to providing
both film and park use permits. Depending on the type of location
your production company plans to use for a shoot, you will need
to submit to the Oakland Film Office (OFO):
1) A Film
Permit Application online or Film
Permit Application PDF
2) A signed Permit
Terms and Conditions Agreement.
3)
In some cases, you will need to distribute a Neighborhood
Notification. Please fill in the details, submit
it back to the OFO for approval before distribution.
4) An accompanying Certificate of
Liability Insurance. Certificate
of Liability Insurance Requirements. Note: The
additional insured endorsement must be set forth on a CG20 10
11 85 form (or more recent) and/or CA 20 48. See below
for sample:

5) If necessary, a parking map listing the parking
spots you are interested in reserving (meter numbers or meter
machine number) must be included) Parking

6) A check for the appropriate amount. See the Services
and Rates section or call the OFO. Make check payable
to the City of Oakland.

After
submitting the appropriate materials, please allow at least
48 hours for the processing of your permit request form. You
should expect to receive the permit by fax or email within the
48 hour time frame. If we should have any questions regarding
your request, we will contact you.
